Benghazi Monument & Museum Project is the first monument built in Libya following the revolution in 2011. The project consists of 12 m high monument, 1640 m² of museum, conference hall, library and offices together with a 10 500 m² of exterior roads, walking areas and landscaping.
4500 m² of marble and travertine were used in different parts of the project. Two model airplanes are placed in the open air representing the crashed Libyan airplanes in 22 December 1992 and 12 February 1973.
